Grow Friendly Gut Bacteria
Inoculate your gut with healthy microflora (bacteria) and go on a low-carb diet for four weeks. Gut microflora play an important role in digestion and intestinal health, and therefore your body’s ability to absorb vitamins and minerals from your food.
Researchers believe that gut microflora can even influence your mood, since the gut produces more serotonin than your brain!
I recommend that you culture your own vegetables. Get Caldwell’s Vegetable Starter Culture and add it to a large mouth jar full of your favorite cut vegetables – cabbage, bell peppers, celery, carrots, onion, etc. Use celery or cucumber juice to fill up air pockets; pack in vegetables tightly and force out all air before closing the jar.
Let sit in a room temperature place for ten days, then put in your refrigerator. Eat about 8 oz. daily with your meals; avoid eating grains and starches as they tend to promote unhealthy bacterial colonies.
Focus on vegetables, animal protein and good fats (eggs, avocado, coconut, almonds, walnuts, fish, and flaxseed).
