Common Causes of Knee Pain

Osteoarthritis – degeneration and pitting of the cartilage that lines the knee joint surfaces which exposes nerve endings in the bone and inflames surrounding soft tissues due to abrasive action during knee movement.  There is also insufficient synovial fluid production.  Synovial fluid is basically the “motor oil” of the knee.
